CrayoNano and LEDiL Collaborate Offering High Optical Efficiency Solutions for UV-C Disinfection Systems
CrayoNano partners with leading optics supplier LEDiL to reduce customer design-in time and offer integrated high-quality optics solutions.
TRONDHEIM, Norway—8 June 2023—CrayoNano partners with leading optics supplier LEDiL to reduce customer design-in time and offer integrated high-quality optics solutions.
CrayoNano, a next generation semiconductor company, and LEDiL, a renowned manufacturer of optical solutions, partner to test, characterize, and qualify the use of their Violetta lenses series optics with our CrayoLED™ UV-C LED.
Ultraviolet-C (UV-C) light has long been known for its germicidal properties, making it a powerful tool in sanitization applications. The disinfection market is experiencing remarkable growth, with UV-C LED disinfection projected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 40% through to 2026 according to Yole Group. In recent years, the development of UV-C LEDs has led to an increase in their use in disinfection applications, from air purification to water treatment and surface disinfection. UV-C disinfection systems rely heavily on the use of optical lenses with UV-C LEDs to increase their versatility to effectively and efficiently eliminate harmful pathogens for industrial surface and air disinfection applications. Therefore, it is crucial to have high-quality and well-integrated components in place.
LEDiL’s testing and qualification results of CrayoLED™ paired with their optical solutions, further gives end customers of both companies access to more disinfection applications requiring a focused or projected beam patterns such as surface disinfection, food processing and automated visual inspection systems.
Customers will benefit from a speedier design-in process from using tested, validated and compatible components from LEDiL and CrayoNano. LEDiL's state-of-the-art optical solutions are designed specifically for UV-C applications, which means that they are optimized to work seamlessly with our CrayoLED™ UV-C LEDs.
Alejandro Basauri, Chief Product Officer says, "We are proud to be qualified by LEDiL, a leading manufacturer of optical solutions. This partnership allows us to offer our customers confidence during the design process, knowing that they will be able to extract the optimized performance from our products. We look forward to continuing our partnership with LEDiL and supporting the development of the best UV-C disinfection systems with our customers."
CrayoLED™ has a near-Lambertian beam pattern, making it an excellent choice for pairing with secondary optics with a flat, uniform distribution throughout the beam pattern compared to other UV-C LEDs with a characteristic batwing pattern. Our optical characterization results tested by LEDiL have revealed impressive efficiency figures, with an 82% efficiency when combined with the Violetta-W, a wide 60-degree beam, and a 73% efficiency when used with the Voletta S, offering a focused 15-degree spot beam. These performance metrics make CrayoLED™ an ideal solution for various applications that demand a focused beam, precise projection and homogenous uniformity. From surface disinfection in food processing to visual inspection tasks, CrayoLED™ delivers leading market results.
“We are extremely excited about the UV-C LEDs from CrayoNano. LEDiL's pioneering and durable optics are among the first UV-C lenses in the market that enable a higher intensity in the target zone, paving the way for new, innovative disinfection applications. We look forward to all the new opportunities this cooperation will bring and extend a warm welcome to CrayoNano for joining the LEDiL Ecosystem!” says LEDiL.
Moreover, being qualified by LEDiL is a testament to the quality of our UV-C LED products. LEDiL works with the leading manufacturers in the industry. This partnership represents our commitment to delivering the highest quality products and solutions to our customers as we strive to contribute to creating a healthier and sustainable world for everyone.
